Frequently Asked Questions

Is therapy right for me?

I think therapy is right for almost everyone! It’s is a place to explore your thoughts, feelings, and worries without judgment. Sometimes my clients choose to work on a long-standing mental health struggle such as depression, or anxiety. Other times clients use therapy as a way to develop strategies for personal growth and/or life skills. Sometimes therapy is useful during times of significant transition or stress such as a new relationship, loss of a loved one, or trauma. Therapy is right for anyone who wants to learn more about themselves and make positive changes in their daily life, relationships, and overall wellness.

What do you specialize in?

Great question! Each team member has specialized trainings and experience to work with the diagnoses and populations that they serve. See the therapists specific bios to learn more.

Do you offer same-day appointments?

No. We're unable to accommodate same-day or emergency appointments. If you are scheduling an appointment with me for the first time, please be advised that it may take 1-2 weeks (depending on your availability) to get your first appointment scheduled.

You list certain populations as your specialties, but I'm none of these. Can I still work with you?

Yes! All identities are welcome here.

I have a loved one who needs therapy. Will you call them and convince them to do therapy?

First, we commend you for caring so much for the person you love. You’re probably concerned about them and want to help them find support. Unfortunately, our professional ethics prevent us from doing this. This would be considered solicitation, and would also violate their confidentiality.
If you think that one of our therapists is a good fit for your loved one, please pass along our phone number, email, or website link to them. This is a great way to express your concern. You may also consider therapy for yourself as you navigate the challenges you’re facing. We’re happy to provide referrals to you.
If your loved one does contact us, please be aware that our ethics also prevent us from disclosing that information to anyone without written consent.

When is therapy over?

Our hope is to empower you with the skills you need to conquer the many challenges that life throws your way. Therapy isn’t over when everything in your life is perfect and we can’t promise to make it that way. Instead, therapy is complete when you can confidently say, "I know that more challenging situations will come my way in the future and I know have the tools to conquer them."

Do you speak Spanish?

Unfortunately,  we don't speak Spanish. If you're searching for a Spanish-speaking provider, we're happy to refer you to a trusted colleague!
